YOGA

The word Yoga means "yoke" (union).Practicing Yoga helps to create unity (oneness) of self, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Developed in India over 2,000 years ago, following the ancient formula known as "astanga" (eight limbs) Yoga. The disciplines of the eight limbs,which is to bring one to "self-realization" are:

  1. Yamas - Adherence to universal moral commandments
  2. Niyamas - Personal observances
  3. Asana - Yoga postures
  4. Pranayama - Rhythmic control of the breath
  5. Pratyahara - Inward attention of sensory
  6. Dharana - Concentration
  7. Dhyana - Meditation
  8. Samadhi - Self-Realization
